FAQs
How much does a shower remodel cost in Las Vegas?
Most Build4U shower remodels land between $11,000 and $19,000 for a full rebuild in the same footprint (Tier 2). A simple tile-and-glass refresh runs $6,500–$11,000; a full spa / walk-in with body sprays and slab walls runs $19,000–$34,000+.
Do I need a permit to remodel a shower in Clark County?
A cosmetic tile refresh with no plumbing or electrical changes generally doesn't require a permit. Any shower rebuild that moves or replaces valves, drains, adds electrical (heated floors, LED), or reconfigures the enclosure needs a Clark County (or Las Vegas / Henderson / North Las Vegas) plumbing and/or electrical permit. Build4U pulls the correct permit — unpermitted work becomes a liability at resale.
What tile survives Las Vegas hard water?
Southern Nevada water runs 275–350 ppm hardness — one of the hardest in the country. We recommend large-format polished porcelain (12x24 or 24x48) with epoxy or urethane grout instead of natural stone and cement grout. Natural stone (marble, travertine) etches and requires quarterly sealing; porcelain wipes clean.
Curbless / walk-in shower — will it work in a tract home?
Yes, most of the time. A curbless shower requires either recessing the subfloor 1.5" (possible in most Las Vegas concrete-slab-on-grade homes with a grinder pass) or building the rest of the bathroom floor up. We survey feasibility at the free consult.
How long does a shower remodel take?
Tier 1 tile refresh: 5–7 working days. Tier 2 full rebuild: 10–15 working days. Tier 3 spa build: 3–5 weeks. Add 2–3 weeks upfront for tile / glass lead time.
